Thrifting

Thrifting is a hot trend at the moment. Of course it’s a hot trend, it’s environmentally friendly and fashionable. My two favorite things. Thrifting used to be uncool and difficult to find cute pieces but in today’s world of fashion, “vintage is in” and the only place you’re going to find one of a kind pieces is thrifting.

I love asking girls where they got their clothes from and their response be thrifting. Their answer angers and excites me at the same time, because I now know I won’t be able to find a pair of pants exactly like theirs but then I think how cool is that? Thrifting has also helped bring back the vintage look, like girls wanting to dress like their mothers from the 90’s, it’s a trendy look. I’ve also indulged in the resale vintage look investing in a 1996 Bongo boots, they make me feel like I just walked out of an episode of Friends. It’s a powerful feeling knowing that you’re one of the only people wearing these pair of shoes and no one else can really find the same exact pair.

Thrifting is an evironmentally friendly way to shop in style. Many young adults have been jumping on the thrifting and selling their clothes trend, which makes finding current styles easy to find. Thrifting isn't finding the old stained school shirt anymore, it's finding designer products because some girl got too bored with the shirt in less than a month and decided to sell it. I do a lot of second hand shopping especially in the Austin area, so here are a few reccomended places!
