Street style is a very popular look at the moment, a lot of jeans, jackets, and boots are perfect for creating an effortless chic look.

Jeans are a very important staple in fashion, the mom jean is especially popular at the moment. Mom jeans are a straight high-waisted denim, that makes anyone look good. Though trends in the past have resorted to very low-waisted pants, the high-waisted denim is in and on fire right now. Levi’s took advantage of this feature and is now creating “Ribcage Jeans” which are absolutely one of the highest pair of jeans I own, and they make me look great. The switch from skinny jeans to straight jeans is definitely a full circle trend, even flare jeans are hot topic item at the moment like we just came out of a 70’s fashion magazine. Color denim and patchy denim is also a great way to play up jeans, it creates a look as if you put in some effort to your outfit but in reality it’s just a pair of jeans.

Most women now a days spend their time in leggings because of the comfort but I’m here to say you can find comfy jeans. Now, I would advise the less comfy the jean, the better it looks. Most fashion people say that jeans are supposed to be stiff so it gives the person better shaping, but there are always alternatives. Now that mom jeans are in, that means the look most people are going for is the baggy artsy look. This gives women who choose comfort over style. You can do both ladies! Style and comfort go hand in hand, you can’t feel cute if you aren’t comfortable.

Another basic is black or white cropped tops. This is an absolute staple piece, right after the jeans. It does not matter if it’s long sleeve, short, or tank tops, you should have one of everything in your closet. This is a model’s go-to on a lazy day. Black tops especially make you feel slim and confident. You can style these tops so many different ways, they are extremely versatile and create an easy chic look. They can also be really affordable at the right places like H&M and Forever21. I would consider looking at places like Uptown Cheapskate and Buffalo Exchange first because second hand retail is more environmentally friendly and cheaper.

Lastly, you NEED to have a pair of black boots in your closet immediately. I don’t care if they have laces, heels, or straps, every women must own a pair of black boots. I have at least 7 pairs, some with heels, platforms, leather, suede, and all of the above. I have boots ranging from $20-$200, so it’s not hard to find a good deal or if you’re in the mood to splurge, go for it. I always recommend a good platform boot, my favorite at the moment are my Doc Martins Jadon boots, they’re a platform soft leather boot with laces. The platform is a good way to make a short person look like they have long legs, pairing the platform with high-waisted pants gives the ultimate model legs look. With these few select pieces, women can create an easy and affordable look.
